I just had to find this absolute CHERRY of a 900 turbo convertible for sale locally.
1994 Saab 900 turbo convertible
The question is - NPoCP at just under 5 grand? How much should I pay for it? There is no real talking me out of this one. I'm doing some maths and seeing how I can afford it.

nice looking car. I always look at the value of SAABs of this vintage as more of a long term proposition. You can own it for 20 years so the cost is irrelevant. Those white letter tires have GOT TO GO though

I'm seriously tempted to sell my Audi and my Jetta and pick this up along with the fiesta ST.

Nice-ish price. I'd still try to talk 'em down, but its a dealer: less likely to budge over a private seller. Still, it does look extremely well-cared for. Old Saabs often are. And it's a manual, even! It's a modern enough car and yet has those classic 900 looks. So maybe its not a NP, but it's...nice enough.

it sure is a good looking one. Are you well versed in classic 900's?

My dad was a Saab mechanic in the early to late 90s.

lol even better. Just as long as someone knows the weak points to look at. Trannies, weird rust in the front control arm mounts, a starter you never want to do, turbo play

I don't know what the actual value is. KBB says for one in "good" condition that it's about 3 grand but this dealership has a reputation for only stocking low-needs, solid cars as far as I can tell. Especially from the south. They just picked up an absolutely mint MkII golf cabrio and towed it up with a late 80s GM 3500 dually crew cab pickup with ZERO RUST. So I would imagine it's worth a bit more than 3000$

Check the axle portals for rust or wear. If they still look cres, then NP all the way. Another rust point is underneath the boot trim. It's kinda hard to see without removing the components, but if you see paint bubbling talk them down. 5 large should get you a pretty mint example. If the portals are rusted, try to knock em down at least a grand. Also check for new vacuum lines. If they're old, you're gonna have a bad time.

It is nice price 'ish. The condition looks great, at least judging by the engine and interiour pics. 120k miles is really low for a car this old. Mine is a 1990 with 160k and it is considered very low mileage.
Your Pops was a Saab mechanic so he should know what to look out for. Given the condition, and if it's accurate, I'd say it would be $3-$4k private seller. Add $500 for dealer markup and I'd say bring it home for $4 to $4.5k.

Beautiful car! The value on these is so strange. In my area, I found a 92 Turbo convertible with 105,000 miles and a manual for only $4500... but then I found a 93 Turbo convertible with a manual with 95,000 miles and he was asking $14,500. People don't know the value of them.
Yours is in a great color (and red usually isn't my thing) and looks really really clean. Offer $4500 and go from there. Id vote NP since it looks so cared for.
Funny side note: My dad had a 92 convertible (auto without a turbo) in green. Im 16 and it was the first car I had ever been in. My dad loved that car. One day we are outside cleaning it (this was around 2003) and it lights itself on fire. Burnt itself down. Bad wiring in the power seat. My dad even took a fire extinguisher and had it out, but it lit again. Saabs are funny!
I've been dying to get one. Almost bought a 900 sedan for $1000, but it was gone too quickly.
Good luck!
